Origin:

Westcott Designs’ furniture line is a culmination of heart and family history. Sue comes from a lineage that is steeped in the wood industry.  For 3 generations both of her parents’ families owned and operated lumber mills.   Sue is the first woman in her family to branch out and utilize wood in an artistic way.   Her intimate relationship with wood is inherited and she engages this deep knowing in the wood selection process.  Each exquisite piece of hand selected wood has just the right character for the purpose it will serve. The manifestation maintains the historical functionality of wood coupled with the refined elegance of design. Each piece of furniture is intended to infuse the new owner’s life with the richness of this lineage and uplift and inspire the space that it is so lovingly placed in.

Process:

Relationships are at the heart of Westcott Designs. We cultivate these relationships as carefully as we craft your furniture. Sue has established a community of highly skilled individuals who collaborate on every step of production to bring you innovative, custom made, luxury furniture. Before we begin, each piece of wood is examined with an artist’s eye and a craftsman’s wisdom to identify those with just the right character for the purpose it will serve. We will seamlessly incorporate your ideas for tones and colors into the overall vision This intimate approach makes every Westcott Designs product an absolutely unique work of art. All of our products are designed and manufactured locally in Boulder, Colorado. Each piece is the result of collaboration among individuals who bring together years of experience to select the perfect wood, imagine its future shape and bring it into being.
